Stevie Nicks

Stevie Nicks sheds tears of joy as dove sings at her window... 40 years after writing iconic song Edge Of Seventeen

In her iconic hit song, Edge Of Seventeen, Stevie Nicks wrote about a white-winged dove that sang 'whoo-whoo-whoo'.
Forty years on, and the legendary singer-songwriter is opening up about the 'life imitating art' moment she recently caught on camera that's a near mirror image to the lyrics.
Turns out Nicks had never actually heard a dove sing - until now.
With the opening lyrics in verse one reading: 'Just like the white winged dove -sings a song - sounds like she's singin' - whoo-whoo-whoo,' it's easy to see the connection Nicks made to the white dove outside her window.
In her social media post, Nicks also shared the story behind the inspiration to Edge Of Seventeen.
'In 1980 I was flying home from Phoenix Arizona and I was handed a menu that said, 'The white wing dove sings a song that sounds like she's singing ooh, ooh, ooh. She makes her home here in the great Saguaro cactus that provides shelter and protection for her…' she explained.
And the rest is rock and roll history.
